South East BIC supported Irish start-up Abodoo, which promotes remote working has been injected with a €200,000 from one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs.

Co-founder Vanessa Tierney

Voxpro founder Dan Kiely - who sold his company last year for an estimated €150m - has invested in budding careers site Abodoo, which launched last September.

Based in Co Wexford, Abodoo has established partnerships with leading employers offering remote and flexible career opportunities nationwide.  With co-founder Vanessa Tierney at the helm, the firm plans to expand to the UK and other European markets in 2018.  "Dan is an entrepreneur through and through, and achieved phenomenal success in establishing, leading and selling Voxpro," Ms Tierney said.  "Dan has followed Abodoo since our establishment and, like us, he believes smart working is the future. His investment will support our expansion into the UK and other European markets."

Ms Tierney said that candidates are already registering with Abodoo from around the world and "with Dan’s guidance, we’ll be able to capitalise on this through regional and in-country presence and international marketing".  "We’re working with some of the most attractive employers in Ireland, and we have a range of excellent roles on offer," she added.
