“You’d have to be nuts not to take advantage of the unique investment opportunity presented by one of the most business-friendly countries in the world, with the youngest, best-educated workforce in Europe,” Bill Clinton, former US President said at the Invest in Ireland Forum in New York in February 2012. Ireland’s historical and geographical advantage makes this island nation attractive to technology companies.

For example, Ireland is the only English-speaking country in the eurozone. Also, Ireland is located between Europe and USA allowing businesses to access both the markets. The Irish government is passionate about supporting technology businesses and offers one of the lowest corporation tax rates in Europe at 12.5%. Technology companies can also avail of a 25% tax credit against research and development costs. Ireland also has double taxation agreements with more than 60 countries.
