As key funders and investors of innovative startups gathered with the founders of Klearcom, the Waterford-based startup to explain and demystify the startup funding journey.
The startup funding journey is different for all entrepreneurs and can be confusing. From bootstrapping, friends & family, incubators, accelerators, grants and state supports, seed, pre-seed, angels, venture funds - it is hard to know what is the best support for what stage of startup growth.
Key players from the Irish funding scene were there, with Jacqui Gaule from Waterford LEO outlining early stage supports both financial and non-financial, Susan Cahill from Enterprise Ireland explained what they are looking for in startup investment opportunities, Colm O’Sullivan from DBIC Ventures described the process of pitching for investment and what seed funds focus on and Cormac Coade of HBAN, the Halo Business Angel Network explained that process. The team from Klearcom: Liam Dunne, Mark Rohan and Tomas Piacek told their story and shared with attendees fantastic advice and insight into their startup journey, having raised €800,000 seed investment, all from the funders and investors in the room.
If you are an entrepreneur with an innovative early-stage business that you intend to scale and internationalise, get in touch with the team at South East BIC www.southeastbic.ie for more information on the startup funding journey.
